Mini Industry Networking Event (MINE)

2025/2026 Competition

The Mini Industry Networking Event (MINE) Competition 2025–2026, organized jointly by the IEEE IAS Education Department and the Chapters and Membership Development (CMD), is designed to strengthen ties between academia and industry through local chapter-driven initiatives.

The competition provides IAS chapters and student branches with an opportunity to:

  • Create high-impact, regionally relevant events.
  • Foster enduring partnerships with industry.
  • Stimulate local innovation ecosystems and professional growth.

MINE event must combine education and networking, serving as a catalyst for meaningful interactions among IEEE IAS members, students, young professionals, faculty, and industry stakeholders

The MINE Competition consists of two phases: Grant Application/Expression of Interest (EOI) and Participation for the MNE Competition. Firstly, the intended PE need to submit an expression of Interest which will be reviewed by the AP.  Following the approval of the GP from the AP, the PE should host a mini-industry networking event and shall take part in MINE (Check the guidelines).

  • Deadline to Submit the report for MINE Competition: 29 May 2026
  • Announcement of the Winner: 19 June 2026

Monetary Awards

  1. 1000 USD – First (1st) place, with certificates for the organizers. + travel grant for two people to attend IAS Annual Meeting 2026,
  2. 750 USD – Second (2nd) place, with certificates for the organizers.
  3. 500 USD –   Third place (3rd), with certificates for the organizers.

Note: If in the opinion of the Selection Committee, the quality of the submissions does not sufficiently meet the evaluation criteria, the committee reserves the right to not present the award. The travel grant will be subject to IEEE travel regulations. IAS reserves the right to suspend the travel grant.
