IAS Sister Societies

There are several societies within the IEEE which have overlapping areas of interest with IAS. Follow the links below to learn more about these societies and their upcoming events.

IEEE Power & Energy Society

The IEEE Power & Energy Society is a worldwide, non-profit association of more than 28,000 individuals engaged in the electric power energy industry. Our mission is to be the leading provider of scientific information on electric power and energy for the betterment of society and the preferred professional development source for our members. The scope of the Society embraces research, development, planning, design, construction, maintenance, installation and operation of equipment, structures, materials and power systems for the safe, sustainable, economic and reliable conversion, generation, transmission, distribution, storage and usage of electric energy, including its measurement and control.

Industrial Electronics Society

The Industrial Electronics Society through its members encompasses a diverse range of technical activities devoted to the application of electronics and electrical sciences for the enhancement of industrial and manufacturing processes. These technical activities address the latest developments in intelligent and computer control systems, robotics, factory communications and automation, flexible manufacturing, data acquisition and signal processing, vision systems, and power electronics. The Society continually updates its program of technical activities to meet the needs of modern industry.

Power Electronics Society

The Power Electronics Society is one of the fastest growing technical societies of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).  For over 20 years, PELS has facilitated and guided the development and innovation in power electronics technology. This technology encompasses the effective use of electronic components, the application of circuit theory and design techniques, and the development of analytical tools toward efficient conversion, control and condition of electric power. Our 7,000 members include preeminent researchers, practitioners, and distinguished award winners.  IEEE PELS Publishes the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, a top referenced journal among all IEEE publications.

Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society

The Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society’s interests lie in materials, measurements, numerical modeling, components, applications and systems pertinent to dielectrics and electrical insulation. These include solids, liquids and gases; small-scale systems such as nano-dielectrics and bio-dielectrics; high-voltage and high-field phenomena; and large-scale systems such as high-power insulation applied to electricity generation, transmission, and distribution. The Society supports the basic science of dielectrics and electrical insulation through practical applications and the development of relevant standards.
